Are the virtual drives still in your drive list? You will have to remove them.
Also try installing Alcohol120, a full clean install, it worked for me on a different game. but I did that on a new HD.
Good Luck

Well if you don't have any funky things going on, on your computer, such as the aforemented: virtual drives, and 'other' ahem software, then you could be having hte problem I had with another game. The cd copyright protection, is 'too good' and it even tags legit cds/drives, the best thing to do is make sure you have firmware/drivers up to date on your drive...you can usually do a dxdiag, or an analysis scan on your drive to see what kind o' drivers you have on your drive already and then you can go to the manufacturer's site for the download, to download and updated ones...if not, then you could always slap another drive in there, if you have a spare...if worse comes to worse, well you're SOL.
You'd better hope you're faster than the wind...for I am what drives the bullet into your skull unaware.

I had to un-install both Alchol 120%, and Nero's Drive Image, to get rid of the error.

btw, have a look here
that's the trick i am using with daemon tools.. so far no problems (but i only tested offline so far).
P.S.: As far as i understand the link/information is not illegal, you still need a valid key to play. If somebody thinks otherwise feel free to inform an admin and/or delete the link
