Back to getting the latest video drivers from Nvidia rather than the old ones on the CD.

Also, update your DirectX 9 from the Microsoft website. They do monthly updates you have to manually get.

If that was Santa Barbara, I would say the beach looks normal.

lol ash, that could look like the Erie Peninsula beaches if the water was more of an icky-brown color and there were big rock breakwaters out there...oh well

anyways, like ash said, I would agree that getting the most recent drivers from nvidia and ms are your best bet.

Probably just an unknown graphics fuckup.

Is that the only texture problem you see? And does it happen instantly or after a few minutes?

When you re-installed, did you manually delete the BF2 folder(backup) in my documents? (especially if you switched video cards)

Do you have the latest Nvidia platform/nforce drivers for your motherboard? Nforce 570 AMD
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

CPU: AMD Dual core optimizer
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Tec ... 18,00.html
http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content ... /Setup.exe

Double check with a manual Dx9 update (as that fixes several games)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Sear ... laylang=en
Just look for Direct X end-user link. You'll download Dxwebupdate.exe and it'll get you current.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info ... %3d4316683

Then of course theres always the fun PB causing weird problems.
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

1) run pbsetup.exe from your root PB folder in BF2. (might run elsewhere).
2) run check for updates. pbsetup.exe may update itself and do an autore-run
3) make sure bf2 is highlighted in the game section. Check for updates until it says no new updates.

Thats about the whole kitchen sink except for audio drivers for an possible add on sound.

Also, if you d/l the BF2 patch from GC, try directly from EA (or vice versa). Possibly a bad file.

First pic doesnt show for me. Sounds like MSI video drivers for dynamic overclocking? You have a MSI made Nvidia card?
http://www.file.net/process/sw20.exe.html

Uninstall ALL video (MSI, Nvidia, or whomever) related software in the add/remove programs control panel.
Then uninstall the video driver from Windows device manager.
Reboot, say 'no' to any found new hardware messages.
Then install only the video drivers from Nvidia.

Maybe you have installed software that is overclocking the video card causing the video corruption.

you may try looking in msconfig startup for the file that tries to load.

Doubt a game would install any drivers besides DX 9, which seems pretty reliable about not installing old drivers.

get a windows xp cd, run it, and choose "format the hard drive, and partition with NTFS file system"

you'll be alright.

Just kidding, but not completely. i would agree that a format would be the answer, because that way you'll have a fresh install, and you'll also be able to put in the latest NVIDIA graphic drivers.

Just a note. I would update your video drivers from your card's manufacture website not from www.nvidia.com.
