Seems windows xp 64 bit isn't the best but i can run my 8 gigs of ram, but i can't run my SATA dvd burner with my hd, for some reason i get a disk.sys error but the HD is fine. Should I have installed RAID drivers?

Alot depends on the chipset that the SATA ports are on the motherboard. Load the drivers for the chipset(s). Check the 1.5 or 3.0 SATA compatibility. May have to configure in BIOS.

The drive may have a 1.5/3.0 jumper, try both. But I'd say try the latest AMD 64bit chipset drivers.

In the BIOS setup, is the "OnChip SATA Type" set to "AHCI" rather than "IDE compat mode"? The IDE compat can be more of a headache than help. Not sure about changing this setting after a windows install, Windows could get pissy. Back up first.

You get that error cos each time you connect your sata burner it becomes primary booting device which your HDD should be. So go in BIOS and select HDD to be your primary booting device.
