If you have any interest or curiosity about learning intro programming or programming web applications, there's this nice set of bite-sized Javascript lessons being unveiled week by week at http://www.codecademy.com

I know Javascript pretty well and I'm going through them just to solidify and test my knowledge.
Fun and easy. Just like your mom used to be. Just kidding.

Do these lessons show us how to program a GC army organization tool that can be used for rollcall, times available, rank, etc?

To work on ABC you need to be able to program in PHP and have a solid understanding of Object Orientated Programming.

I've used PHP before, and cut my teeth on C++ and C#.

What's ABC? Forums software?

Its a software that was coded by mat-the-rat and Goggles, if memory serves me right, for GC purposes. You clicked a link on the front page and there you were able sign up for upcoming battles, see your rank and medal history, officers promoted people and give medals with ease.

It was Mat-d-rat (now Matmoo) who made it with help from Majorburner and ph1|0r. As .Sup says, it was an integrated module on our old forums which enabled members to sign up for upcoming battles. It also allowed HCs to hand out medals which users could display as blocks of ribbons and lots of other neat stuff. We had to abandon it when we switched over to our current forums as it wasn't compatible.

The old version was written to integrate with phpnuke. Between BF2 and BF3 we've upgraded the forums. But it means the old ABC is no longer compatible. I've begun writing a new version that is designed to work along side phpbb3 but it's a big job and I have limited time.
