Does this put the 680 back up above the 7970?

That's a question for the gods.
IMO it never really matters if AMD or Nvidia is better, people tend to buy the same brand they always bought. Usually the difference is so small anyway.

games are optimized for one of the brands. some are optimized towards AMD, and mostly have AMD logo play at the start, and some work better with Nvidia, and have the Nvidia logo.
its stupid to go with the same brand just cus it worked for you last time, get the one that gives you better performance for the money you have. both brands are excellent, i go with THG choice for my budget. used to have Geforce 6800Ultra which lasted about 8 years (twice the lifespan) and 2 years ago i got ATI/AMD 5850HD

Downloaded this last night for my Gigabyte GTX670 windforce. It fixed the bug where BF3 would perform like crap (around 60fps on high) on the 310.70 drivers on my specific graphics card.

Approved!

I also got a nice performance increase on my GTX660 Ti.

for AMD guys: the 12.11 should give us a nice boost in performance in BF3 (and loads of other games).
if you want to try it now, check the beta:

for BF3 documentation, scroll to Beta and BETA (beta1) notes at the bottom.
