Packet loss on the GC teamspeak [SOLVED ... maybe]

Post by KoffeinFlummi »

Since Friday i've had extreme packet loss on the GC teamspeak server every once in awhile. The in packet loss goes up to 70%, while the out packet loss stays at zero. Up until today i could resolve the issue by simply reconnecting and then it was fine for hours, but now i can't get rid of it anymore.

I tried connecting to other servers. The public teamspeak server works fine, and so does Gwynzer's server. The GC server is the only one where that problem occurs. Friday was also the day when teamspeak when down every 30 minutes; From what i read it had something to do with the exchange of some fiber? Could that have something to do with it?

I tried turning both AV and the firewall off, but that didn't solve the problem either. Need help plox.

EDIT: reinstalling teamspeak didn't fix the issue.

I jump around UK (Yup) and then go to Germany (OK) then to US West Coast (What), before bouncing back to US East. Weird route.

#7 is the overloaded server that causes lag and packet loss.
nothing to do about it really. unless there is a way to reroute your packages yourself

They seem to have fixed it. Whoever 'they' are.

Nevermind. The packet loss is back and worse than ever. I'm actually timing out every once in awhile now. I tried to run Teamspeak over a proxy to get the packets to reroute but that didn't work out either.

At this point i'm just waiting for whatever server is responsible to completely break so that someone finally fixes it.

So what you're telling me is, there is a situation on the internets where some people can't talk on teamspeak... and Flummi is the only one affected? I fail to see the problem here...

"Packet loss" got me thinking. I used to have these issues in BF2 where every 20 seconds my ping went up to 500. I only discovered 2 years later what the problem was when I got a new free router from my ISP. The problem was a cheap Canyon router I had. So try to connect your PC straight into the modem.

Actually, me and some others (archdirtydigger among them) had similar problem yesterday evening. We all lost connection to TS and BF3 servers, several times.

My ISP is Telia, so I suspect them to be the culprit here... doing something on their net but no information to be found anywhere...

I guess we'll just have to wait and see :?

i also get disconnected from TS from time to time, or have hard time connecting.
i also experienced severe lag this Tuesday EUBO, so bad it wasn't just rubber banding but just people teleporting all over.
it got fixed by the last round. hopefully it won't happen this Saturday.

I actually didn't have any problems with any other applications or teamspeak servers, but there indeed seems to be something wrong with Telia...
