Whenever i try to play, even at the lowest settings, the people skip around the map, nothing steady to shoot at...

The good 'ole warping? That looks like a bf2 server problem to me. You're gonna have to wait for a patch. Hopefully the upcoming one will correct it.

IN the meantime play servers with less players on them.

btw, the patch says its fixing the BF2 Linux server. I wonder if the Windows Server runs alot better??

the linux server fix will only be for the problem of ppl disconnecting after each round.

Yup we have that problem playing on the server...people dissapear in and out or take ten seconds to realize they're dead...I'm mad, Cheesy got a rather...ahem cheesy kill on me, 'cause no one was there and five seconds later I'm dead...

yeah, the GC server tends to skip around, and trust me, my system can handle the game...

I played on some low ping (+/-15) ranked 64 slot servers today, and they all warped, so it's probably not the GC server.

Haven't seen that for awhile. Some of the best stuff just never gets outdated, am I right? :P

yeah, it weird, it's prolly just the GC server.

I think a 3700+ with 1 gig of Corsair memory and an ATI 9800 can prolly handle the game.

I tried it at lowest everything, but to no avail...

From the way this lag looks, it seems as if the server doesn't send enough packets to the client which in turn isn't able to correctly interpolate all the entities, but I haven't really looked into the bf2 netcode yet, so it's hard to tell (e.g. what kind of lag compensation bf2 uses etc.). In the end, it might just be some incorrect server cvars.

And it's really unplayable, for example a fast moving car will warp up to 3-4 lengths at a time, I completely stopped trying to hit them with a chopper cause it's a futile attempt anyway.

Here we go... blame the twin Opteron +3 Ghz with 2 Gigs of ram..

How about... Ranked servers Lag like crap.... I've been on 5 total... every one of them lagged.. badly..

Played on the GC server (unranked) virtually no lag ........

Im waiting to see if EA can fix the problem... before I start pointing at a 4x too powerful server on a 10x too fast connection.

This is often caused by AA/AF being set to medium/high when the system cannot handle the load.
