Mouse problem

Sometimes, when I'm at my computer, my mouse pointer just swings to a corner, all by itsself. At desktop, that isn't a big problem, just move the mouse back to the center, but when playing a game, it wil result in your character (BF2 or World of Warcraft) and sight spining arround while you see either the sky or the ground for like 5 seconds. As you can image, this is EXTREMELY anoying. Does anyone know how come and how to resolve this?

BTW, I have a 'Nerio' wireless optical mouse. MODEL: RFSOP - 533

Thx

A nice heavy sledgehammer will probably fix your problem. I recommend the Logitech G5 as your next mouse :)

If you're lazy and/or can't afford a new mouse then try updating your drivers...

make sure the mouse and surface you're mousing on is clean.

cordless mice = too much possible hassle, especially for applications like gaming.

I'd trade the cordless in for a corded optical, but if you refuse to get a corded mouse Daywrecker's suggestion is the first step. Next make sure there is a clear line of sight between the mouse and the receiver if it's IR or if it's bluetooth make sure you don't have any other wireless devices (like 5.8Ghz phones or cell phones) near it (as in right next to it or the receiver).

If you do get a corded mouse I highly recommend the Logitech MX518. After 4 years of exclusively using MS Intelli-opticals I started using the 518 like week. I love it...once I got used to the grip and extra sensitivity of it.

I have logitech rechargable wireless mouse and I love it, it charges at night and is good for all day, its large and comfortable (I have big hands) and I find it great for gaming, of course I always keep a corded mouse nearby just incase.

Well, there is a clean line to my reciever, and it's like only 75cm of space between it. The surface is clean too. I'd rather not have a cordless mouse. And the batteries are recharchable, so that shouldn't be a problem. The mouse is like 1 year old, it shouldn't be 'broken' yet .
Anyway, my birthday is this monday, and I asked my parents to buy me a new one, but I'll get to chose it first :P (my parents aren't really the computer experts ) so there is hope :D

Go for Logitech G5 or MX518 (slightly older model).

Make sure there is no hair or particles on the optical lens area. Once in awhile a very fine hair will get in there and make the curser go nutty.

I use Logitech MX Duo and couldn't be happier.

Both the G5 and MX518 are corded mice.

The best gaming mouse is the Microsoft Trackman Explorer. Man the shite you can do with that thing. i love it. It takes a little while to get used to but once you get the hang of it, Watch out!

I like both but currently using optical mouse. Pay attention to how much mouse movement you do in game, especailly if you have to lift it. The biggest thing with the trackball is that you never need to move, let alone lift it. Aiming with tanks is easier in my experience. Its better for carpul tunnel. It takes about a month to get used to.
