As most of you already know, we need a better ranking system for C3.
The problem with the ranking system in C2 was that once you reached rank 4 or 5, you stayed that rank for the rest of the campaign. After 4 weeks in C2 I reached rank 5 and I had that rank till the end.
So we really need more ranks, and it should be harder to rank up.
What do you guys think about these ranks:

Trainee
Private
Private First Class
Corporal
Sergeant
Staff Sergeant
Sergeant First Class
Master sergeant
Squad leaders
Second Lieutenant
First Lieutenant
Captain
Officers
Major
Colonel

These are all from an free fps game I played 5 years ago.
Synchronizing with what Madcow has set up in TS (which may be a moot point if TS file access disappears) is another factor to look at.
Anything we can turn into a template and make available to new generals is a must.
At KI some ranks were skipped intentionally so new ones can be made if needed. For example we had no Lieutenant or Colonel but those can easily be made if there is need for them.
Having the same ranks every campaign makes the campaign less diverse that it would be with new creations every time.
