GC Squad Tournament #5...? Will not take place till later!

If you want to do the tournament in BF3 you would have to do it next weekend, because there would be a severe lack of players wanting to play bf3 after bf4 beta launch.

You could run it in the bf4 beta but it would be very limited in maps and player knowledge.
I doubt that you can find the time to run it after the beta due to the campaign.

If this is really the case, I think we might have to do YonderGod's idea with the draft. OR we could just have people show up and we do a random team generator.

I'm going to put up a poll now and get some more info. (This is assuming the BF4 beta is 28 days long)

The beta starts oct 1st and game launches oct 29th. I dont think there will be downtime between the two for over 5 days, probably more like 3. So 28 days was an overshot but it will be close to it

As far as I'm aware of the beta end on Oct 15.

This was posted in the official beta FAQ before it was taken off shortly after so dates could obviously be different.

I don't see how all the events in the poll are mutually exclusive. Since I don't think we'll be able to control a BF4 server for the beta, we have a couple of options, each with sub-options.
Option A: Do a BF3 squad tournament one of these weekends between now and the BF4 launch.
Option B: Don't do a BF3 squad tournament, or do it after BF4 launches (but WHY)

each option has the following sub-options:
Sub-option 1: Once BF4 launches, have a BF4 squad tournament.
Sub-option 2: Jump straight into 32s with BF4.

Bf3 squad tournament, so we can start Bf4 with 32v32s
32s will be better to find out what is unbalanced and needs to be banned and stuff.

a small tournament would be better for seeing what are the best weapons, much of which would be lost in the confusion of 64, GC hasn't banned any in-game items anyway

These squad tourneys are fun, but there's a lot of sitting around. When BF4 comes out, I would rather do 32v32.

Judging by the votes, it looks like a BF4 Launch Tourney is unlikely. Although.. I may have to re-do the poll cuz the options are kinda messed up.

My guess is that most people who voted for BF3 Tourney are in the camp of Bock who would like to see a BF4 Scrim instead of a Tourney. And I'm sort of inclined to agree as well.

I'll put up a new poll tomorrow and take a look.
