Time to start building a new rig.
Re: BF3 Teaser Trailer and News
good question ... what is the thrill of realism anyway?AlbinoKalle69 wrote:![]()

Should a shooter look that realistic?
For me it is standing in that BC2-Africa harbour map watching the plastic bags been blown around by the wind, looking up at the sky in that heavy metal map watching the vultures flying up ahead, standing at a shore watching the waves move ... only to be shot while doing so.
We all know it is a game we are playing, if you think back at DOOM hurt me plenty mode or left 4 dead you have tons of blood and gore. I guess we will never see brains being spilled in the BF-series. So I would say the more impressive the scenery the more fun to run from one spawn point to the next since it is not only flat green/brown ground you are covering but a landscape that is living (think about the butterflies in the singleplayermode of BC2). It will be way harder to detect enemies in the wild the more realistic the game graphics will become - unless you happen to run into me standing there in the open staring at some bird/bee/whatever

Re: BF3 Teaser Trailer and News
I agree with you sushi. I only came up with this caus I had a discussion with a friend of mine who won't play shooters with a realistic background (like Battlefield, CoD, etc., he has no problem with l4d or team fortress 2 though). When I showed him the new BF3 trailers he was stunned and disgusted at the same time. Stunned because the graphics are awesome and disgusted because the game looks so realistic (especially the commander view) which left him kind of speechless at first...

Re: BF3 Teaser Trailer and News
So you are saying, that a player with lower graphic setting will see his enemies sitting in the open - since the bushes and grass will not be displayed - while the other players with higher settings will not see him hiding behind a small bush.
I guess I will still go for ultra high setting that send my graphic card fuming and watch out for butterflies

I hope that I'll be able to play the game in high settings but yeah, I will give my friend a hint..Sup wrote:If you lower graphic settings quality it will look like BF42
So far the system requirements look promising. I'm not willing to upgrade my system right now...I planned to keep it two years at least.

I'm in trouble if that is the minimum.AlbinoKalle69 wrote:Phew, seems like my rig fullfills the recommended specifications...
woke up this morning, put on my slippers, walked in the kitchen and died

I like how the recommended hard drive space for the disc version is 50% greater than the downloaded version.Sup wrote:These are now confirmed specs:

Re: BF3 Teaser Trailer and News
Nah, as long as guys like Sushi who are looking for butterflies play BF3, I'll be able to frag some guys.Sup wrote:Rig is one thing, skill is another. hehe j/kAlbinoKalle69 wrote:Phew, seems like my rig fullfills the recommended specifications...
I could also imagine that the recommended hardware specs turn out to be the minimum specs...and then I'll have to think about overclocking.
