I've given up believing any of their patch notes, as zebra said earlier in a different thread they don't even tell us many of the changes they actually make.

how big is this update? i didn't notice my origin downloading anything, and it says the game is up to date. i've been able to join R18 servers too.

The listed changes/fixes all seem good, there's just so much more that needs to be adressed.

Fixed a player feedback timing issue where blood was appearing before other damage indicators, and before damage was actually done
I wonder... did they actually fix something? Or did they just apply some cheap hack to cover up the issue like some of their previous netcode "fixes?"

The wording is very weird, because why would blood appear when damage isn't even applied. It suggests it doesn't automatically inflict damage to a person when it detects you hit something.

the information is too obscure to understand what it means.
was the damage applied too late? or the blood too early? pffff.

it's a band-aid hackup job to cover up the netcode more. The getting killed while the other player is behind a wall not even around the corner stuff is still quite prevalent, and that was only in like 10 minutes of playing before I stopped. I'd get 10-12 "blood sprays" from hitting a guy with a PKP (that's 3-4x more bullets than necessary for a kill), only to watch the guy turn around and headshot me.

as to some of the other patch notes:
-Various fixes for improving general stability
-Fixed a memory leak issue occurring after level shutdowns, which could result in a out-of-memory crash in longer play sessions

both of these are crap. My game in 10 minutes of play was less stable than pre-patch, and there are plenty of reports of out-of-memory crashes still occurring, which means they either introduced more memory leaks, have more than 1, or did a piss-poor patch up job.

basically this patch (as far as netcode and performance) is another pale of water being thrown out of a sinking boat; they tried to help but aren't actually fixing the holes. The balancing changes listed are a step in the right direction though.

Played a round on Guilin Peaks. Now instead of trading with people, you die and they get 0 health on your kill feed.

I still had fun though, Guilin is an awesome map.

Oh, and now I have a bug where the game randomly alt-tabs itself constantly for about a minute on joining a server. YES

OH BOY!
Well, good to know the jets are fixed lol. No stability issues or anything I can experience except lag when all I do is fly anyways

i played 2 rounds yesterday, and im not sure, but it seems damage is applied a bit faster (with the blood on the screen). so its a bit more responsive. the amount of damage inflicted didn't change so you still insta-die. but at medium to long range you have a second more to response. or so it seemed from 2 rounds.

but it ended with something that haven't happened to me in a while - BF4.exe has stopped working.
fixed stability issues - now its unstable again

The jets will be fixed when they remove that horrible locked to the center third-person perspective.

Watched one of LevelCap's videos, even though he's become super boring recently, and he had the same alt-tab glitch but thought he alt-tabbed accidentally.
