Global Conflict

The more I think about it, the more I'm actually excited. I do enjoy some of the basic gameplay components of BF3, it's just so soured from battlelog being half functional, the lousy hit detection & other bugs we've all come to know. At least the new commander mode will be epic fun for GC, and we'll finally have a spectator mode, allowing real e-sports style coverage of competitive gameplay.

So yeah I just got into the Alpha

Do you have the "contact me regarding EA's products, news and events" checked in Origin?

If you get Fields to be excited about something from EA, you must be doing something right...

I was a little worried that the E3 build looked so... bland. The textures were all tan/brown but I couldn't tell if they were missing, washed out or perhaps covered with dust from the collapsed building. Well thanks to the leaked alpha email, I got my answer!

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but this makes me very happy.

I guess you might have read the alpha email. I don't know how true it is, but it does say "You have been specifically selected for this trial because of you experience with the Battlefield, series, and because you have opted-in to receive all Battlefield communications."

I've looked through Battlelog and don't see any email opt in options. The only one in Origin I found was in Origin>Account and Privacy>Contact Preferences>Email Preferences. I'd never looked through those and there is an option to opt in to receive email about every Origin game, including Battlefield. It's probably too late now, but I've checked Battlefield for good measure. If anyone knows of any other hidden opt ins, I'd appreciate a heads up.

Hmm..
I didn't get an invite and I have had these options checked ever since installing Origin. So, this could mean that there are some other hidden opt-ins. Or the more likely case I'm not leet enough

Yes it is checked, the second option is disabled though. The funny thing is I didn't receive any email. BF4 just showed up in my library. And I just read the email you should receive and it says win8 is not supported...
So i got all excited for nothing

Well... that is a shame... Any chance you'd be willing to share your Origin account in exchange for a private stream to share the experience? I know someone that meets the system specs and could stream for you... /hint /hint

I believe it's a "Man Portable Active Protection System" and is used to destroy incoming explosive rounds like a portable version of the tank Trophy system.

Sounds like the BF4 version of the trophy system from COD. I wonder what the limit is to how many explosives or projectiles it can block.
