Duke vs Cheesy sounds like a winner to me.

Seriously though, if you want to general a BF3 camp you better step up quick. BF4 comes out around Christmas right? That means there may only be 2-3 more BF3 camps and 4-6 more generals. Depending of course on if we switch to BF4 after release.

I don't mean to volunteer myself, but as this will probably be my last campaign at GC (college starts in the fall, and I won't have any time) this'll be my last chance.

Nahh. Don't take college TOOOO seriously. Gotta let loose once in a while on Saturdays so don't say it'll be your last campaign!

BlackIce for General!

Not because you won't have time for GC in college (seriously, unless you're taking 18+ credits and working part time, you'll have a ton of free time in college, especially your freshman year), but because you should be out doing stupid stuff IRL with your free time, not pouring time into campaign planning.

I agree with this. We both speak from experience.

Sorry for the off-topic.

I'm getting my BS in Nuclear Engineering and I still find time on the weekends for GC. A few (or 6) hours every Saturday and a few hours on Tuesdays every once in awhile goes a long way to keep one from feeling like their life is consumed by studying. Now I don't work so that gives me even more time to play but if I did work as well I would probably definitely want to play when I had the chance. So I definitely wouldn't call this your last campaign.

Being a General on the other hand probably would get in the way of your schoolwork though. So this very well may be your last chance to be a General, so I say you should get it since it's obviously something you want to do. I just say you shouldn't count GC out just cause you are heading to college.

Pretty much!! Don't become a workaholic/GCholic. Although as general, you may have to. Unless we get a campaign where both generals are slackers..

I think it would be folly to move so quickly. I hope we can have HCs if not the entire officer corps selected by this time next week. Have the player draft done and have the draft day scrim two weeks from now. Rushing through the drafts will make for another imbalanced campaign, I think.

Also, I would like to see one or two scrims between the draft scrim and BFI. One complaint I heard, which I agree with, is that C5 ended right as squads/armies began to really "click". Having a couple scrims will help the armies develop before the battles start to count.

i am all for several scrims before the campaign starts officially, but i do think these scrims have to have some kind of motivation for the armies to win.
and motivation comes in the form of some kind of impact on the RISK board (capitals, cards, divisions...)
last time it was 'who cares' and people didn't play seriously. as the army isn't pushed, it doesn't evolve, and it doesn't 'click'.
