You linked the same video.
Great job by the way - I thought you've been wanting to keep this on the down-low since the Gladius vs. STAR campaign though.

Thanks, I fixed the link. TBH I wouldn't have put the video out under normal circumstances, but the amount of misinformation out there was mindbogglingly ridiculous.

Nice video and very good explanations. I learned a few tidbits here and there.

It's the same, but as Expandas did say they are a bit slower.

Stingers seem to work "below radar" as well, and they always seem to hit.
Also - whats the better tactic? deploy ECM just before the missiles hit, or before being locked on?

Below radar only applies to air vehicles. A chopper wont be able to lock an enemy chopper below radar, but any nearby stingers on the ground will be able to.

And using ECM before vs using ECM after is debateable. If you use ECM after the missile is fired, then if you move theres a fairly large chance the missile is going to hit regardless, unless you are flying low near the ground/past buildings. If you use ECM before the missile gets fired then it sometimes will bug and you wont be able to stop the firing of the missile at all.

Both have their pro's and con's. If you're hovering a while away just hovering still, then using ECM after is almost always better. If you're on the move then you'll have to think about your position, movement, speed, and distance to the missile source.

Expandas, do you want this kept in house at GC, or do you want it to go the the wider population of the game? :)

Great work though, so that's why you where bombarding me with ECM/Missile/Stigla question all last night!

Excellent tutorial expandas! Also got Demize99 seal of approval on reddit

Now all I need is to learn how to avoid those pesky guided trees

If it's so complicated, isn't it just easier to use Flares? Why even bother with ECM?

ECM breaks the lock, so you both need to reload and re-lock (and hopefully waste a rocket).
flares only dodge a missile. the lock stays on, and as soon as the flares are gone you can shoot another one.

flares dont stop javelins. So there is literally no way of dodgeing them at that point. In a jet thats not an issue, because you can outrun the javelin, but thats obviously not possible
