500 would be bad. Now consider that LevelCap has something like 200,000 subscribers. If even only 10% of those people took a glance at the website, flummi would die (not that i wouldnt enjoy that).

Picture this...

*GC video intro*
Scene: Bock headglitching a rock with his m16a3, his tryhard pants hiked up to his nipples, held in place by spec-ops black suspenders.
Levelcap peaks a corner.
Bock's hands are shaking at the opportunity.
He empties his clip.
By the grace of Daskro, he landed enough body and leg shots to bring down the Youtube star.
The crowd goes wild.
Overnight, Bock goes MLG pro and his youtube subscriber count skyrockets into six figures.

German hunters would join GC just to shoot the famous Bock.
("shoot a Bock(=ram)" is a german idiom, einen Bock schiessen )

Make this happen

OT:
as other have said, its a decent idea if we're set up for it.
It'd be better to do inbetween campaigns, so as to possibly set up a multiple army campaign, and the likes. Last thing we want is to have 250 people per army where as duke said no-one gets to experience the GC spirit.

In regards to the OP, Daskro was at one point talking to either Level or Matimo about trying out GC during C4. The battleday they were supposed to show up was the week that Pride surrendered. Not sure what came of it after that.

Well, at least I brought a good topic.

I've read all your comments, so what about maybe, as someone suggested, a smaller youtuber?

I remember that "nickbunyun" used to play a ton of squad rush 4v4 and organized things like that. The problem... he's really lazy.
Another one could be "intheworksmedia".

Those guys have less subscribers and they both look like serious players.

Any more thoughts?

I think the decline has more to do with that people are getting tired of bf3 and are looking forward to bf4.
I havent played pubs in weeks, I think we will have enough people once we switch to bf4

You also have the crazy Swede, ImAnderZEL  Not sure how many subs he has, but he tubes several other games as well, so BF3 nerds are probably like 30% of his sub pool.

An option would be Luetin if he has any interest to play with us on pc. He recently got a pc and from battlelog played a tiny bit of bf3 on it. He has only 23000 followers, probably with a high quote of console players, emphasises tactics on his channel and has a competitive gaming background. A BF3-Video on his channel will probably get less than 4000 views.

If we get a conversion rate of ~1% than we get 40 players. And even that would be surprisingly much IMHO, so we won't get overwhelmed.

I generally assume a conversion rate of at most 1/20, possibly a lot less, for creating long term community members out of those who initially view the site.

We had 1400 up votes on the Reddit Rush post, plus at height 800 simultaneous views of the website. Unknown number of total unique visitors but probably in the thousands. I'm looking into trying to get better data on unique visitors to GC during that period of time.

We had approximately 700 accounts created in the 1 month following the Reddit Rush.

Of those about 450 signed up for the campaign.

Of those, I would estimate approximately 50-66% came to at least one battleday (call it 300). That's a pretty generous estimate and probably counts people who only briefly joined TS and might never have played.

Further, if my recollection serves, the largest simultaneous population on TS was maybe ~180-200 for a brief period of time.

We ran two full servers for maybe a month and half. So average population is around ~150. Then one of the servers kept falling in population and eventually the other server was also not being run full.

By two and a half months we ended the two server system and returned to a single full server. Active population at this population 80-100 players.

450 Reddit Rush sign-ups, plus another 80 outside of the 1 month Reddit Rush time, plus the 50 or so sign ups from the start of the campaign.

~580 sign ups total during C2  ~100 active players at the end of C2  ~200 sign ups for C3, during which we mostly had a single full server with waiting rooms, call it over 100 active players

Let's call that a yield of 1/6 for long term players from initial sign ups. Maybe 1/10 for long term players from site registrations. And to figure out how many people register out of those who view the site, we need more data.

Personally given the number of hits we were experiencing, even if we only assume 3500 unique visitors that's a conversion rate to long term players of less than 3%, which is probably very high as I suspect we had a lot more visitors than that. And would be just of the people we get to come to the website.

hey, all the old/vets guys- you're just too afraid of every change.
we will die someday... stop hiding under the sink and hold on to the current.

we will make what needs to be done before, and apply the right change.
it seems like on BD we got 64 people on server and TS,
but both armies struggle right now to keep their side full for the whole BD.
you guys rarely online in game+TS and still so afraid for your forum.

BF3 will die, but people will still play after it, most as it seems will get BF4.
if someone will join now and like what is going on here, he will stay for BF4.

you are right about thinking good before you choose where to grow to.
but not doing anything just like doing the wrong thing, will get the
wrong result. signups for BD are on ABC, watch them and see what's really going on
the BD, for few weeks, and then try to draw the right picture.
