This should help folks on Commander-mode day. I know this helps me because I was trying to devise a plan to unlock all the weapons. :-D

but I want to earn my unlocks
Even now my guts are twisted by activating the boosters and playing during the double XP events. I want to unlock stuff (fast), but I still want to work for it. Why is bf4 doing this to me?

incorrect.
new weapons are unlocked based on XP (class XP, weapon category XP etc...)
accessories to weapons (scopes, grips etc..) are unlocked based on the amount of kills.

So XP boosts help unlocking weapons, but not attachments.
