Some new info on the patch. Im sure everyone will be happy about the decrease grenade launcher explosion radius and minimum arming time. And if the no shooting while jumping is still there, people will be really happy.

£5.99 an addon, that's pretty damn reasonable actually, even I can afford that :)

Oddly enough no info on bunnyhoppying and dolphin diving :(

If the three new maps are well done i'm fine with the price for that booster pack. Software Development costs a fortune and the booster makes ensure they keep working on it. EA is making good profits but producing a game like BF2 costs a hell of a lot money upfront long before the game hits the store for 50$. Looking forward to it. Maybe we have some hackers available that are able to "backport" the maps to vanilla bf2 ;-)

Wonder how:

- Detonation radius from grenade launcher explosions has been reduced.
- Grenade launcher projectiles now have a minimum time before arming.

will turn out. To bad they say nothing about dolphin diving. Can't be so hard to do something about it. Even Counterstrike has it for years.

5.99 GBP = 8.71251 EUR (just for those who don't know :))

well, that's like a VERY low price :) so I will get it, the only problem is HOW will I pay it if it's only available for downloading :?

a german bf2 newsside claiming they will testing the bf1.2 patch this friday and will report of that test. So the patch couldn't be that far away

so...so does this mean no more using the 203 as a shotgun? =D

but i wonder, if you can throw a grenade at somebody and kill them (grenade doesn't explode, just hits them), then can the same be done with the 203?

I threw a smoke grenade at someone's head who was AFK and it killed them. I was never able to do it again.

2 weeks ago i played with Foxylady, Leroy and Secret on a ranked server...I did take down the Us attack Choppers with a whole magazine from the jackhammer..couldn't believe it.. :roll:

Here is the link to the main EA website with about the same info except for priceing and a bit more on what the patch will fix. 10 Dollars in the US and Euro and 6 pounds for UK. Still a pretty good deal and between the two booster packs that will be ten bucks cheaper than what SF cost. A very good deal and something I could live with as long as the quality holds up like in SF!

Here is the list copied of confirmed fixes from EA for us to reference, including no more dolphin diving or bunny hopping

Helicopter now carry 8 missiles rather than 14
TV-Guided missile now have a shorter range
Hit points on all air vehicles has been reduced
AA missile lock has been improved
Support kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
Sniper kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
Anti-Tank kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
"Dolphin Diving" is no longer possible
Players can no longer jump and shoot at the same time
"Prone Spamming" is now fixed
"Sprint exploit" is now fixed
The Sa80 weapon has been improved
The G3A3 weapon has been improved
Reload while sprinting has been enabled
Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials
Damage decreased for the M134
Medic defibrillator paddles have been adjusted. They now reload while not in use.
Server search filters now work properly
All mines (Claymore, Anti-vehicle, C4) can now be picked up by the same class that dropped it by using the “G” key.
Mines can no longer be destroyed with other explosives
Flash bang effect radius decreased
Added unlocks for Sniper and AT kits
Fixed a bug in terrain rendering with night vision, whereby terrain was still dark in dark areas.
Fixed a bug whereby mods that are not bf2 or not xpack permutate shaders every time a level is loaded.
Fixed a bug whereby non-xpack mods cannot use xpack shaders.
Fixed bug in TV guided missiles of Havoc helicopter
Bug in MP7 fire rate fixed. Ammo count increased and mag count and damage decreased
APC Update – “Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials”. This fix was a miscommunication to the patch team. Chinese and MEC APC’s have been reverted and the LAV25 now no longer shoots through penetrable materials.
Vehicles no longer disappear when viewed from some vehicles with a HUD (e.g. Tanks).
Performance gain found in static mesh rendering.
Detonation radius from grenade launcher explosions has been reduced.
Grenade launcher projectiles now have a minimum time before arming.



I am thinking that the Grenade from the GL will bounce off what ever it hits if it is not armed just like the hand thrown.

Cant wait to play when this patch hits the servers!

Wow. EA just made my day, AND totally changed CAL play forever. Now BF2 might turn into a real semi-realistic squad shooter instead of a CSS clone with vehicles. Alot of CAL teams may actually quit now that their favorite infantry weapon just went down the tubes. Personally, I think Ill like the GL BETTER now, as I already use it how theyre really used: long range suppression and indirect fire.

am i reading it right, that we have to pay for the booster pack
which is a "patch" for the game itself. OR is the booster pack
something completly diferent? if so, what is a booster pack.?

patch comes free dl and boosterpacks ( yes 2, one in feb and one in march ) to pay dl only ( till now ). Pack 1 include euro forces and 3 maps.
doesn't makes me happy at all only sell Booster packs by pay online dl

ok, i just read a few posts down from this one, so a booster pack
is essentially a mini-mod pack? so they still get our $30 bucks, just
$10 at a time...
