Yup, its out. EA either went sneaky, or Fileplanet is leaking the file early. Here ya go...

http://www.fileplanet.com/161533/160000 ... 1.21-Patch

The server is slow as heck, looks like its taking alot of hits.

Should be fast ;-) Please don't spread that link. I'll be watching referrers and remove the file if i notice we get a lot of hits from other sources.

Thanks

Hope they will put it up for download today so i can leech it tomorrow and have things setup for saturday. Anyone know what they changed in 1.21? Claymores still don't kill friendlies but that was a minor issue since it's server adjustable.

BUG FIXES
- Fixed the Hmmwv with TOW crash on Battlefield 2: Special Forces maps
- Fixed the Battle Recorder crash
- Fixed the screen capture
- Fixed the issue with Pixel Shader 1.4 video cards
- Fixed the issue that caused heat seeking missiles to stick to oil towers
- Fixed the issue that caused heat seaking missiles to ziz-zag
- Reduced the maximum number of claymores that can be dropped to 2
- Fixed the Server Browser filter to enable search by map name
- Fixed the error in Client - Server communication causing sound, animation and other
sync issues.

Shamelessly copied and pasted from the Readme.

Interestingly, EA's patch site doesnt have the actual patch file, just the readme, but apparently EA has double-verified that the fileplanet link is the real deal. Like Id expect less from FP.

Really not much of a fix if this is it. Fileplanet has the download size as only 13.9 MB. If that is true it has to be the smallest patch they have released yet

Actually playing with the patch feels better. Maybe it's just auto suggestion. Hardcore GC play will tell if it's really improving things.

It is, and it is. Im thinking alot of the changes are server-side, so we may be seeing a sizeable server side patch. The biggest fix is the sync issues that (Im hoping) helps fix the AT ghosting issues, red tag bug issues, etc. The other nice thing is the stupid AA being supposedly fixed so it doesnt go berserk any more. We also have our screen cap keys back, which is nice, as well as fixing the TOW HMMWV crash problem, so those SF maps are back going again.

So do we have to wait before installing it? Or our servers will be ready for saturday?

EA has confirmed that that IS the official patch, and it is apparently going to be "Officially" released either later tonight or some time tomorrow. The UK EA forums said "tonight" for a release, so I doubt there will be issues getting the servers patched.

Are there 1.21 servers up? Or is this backwards compat with 1.2?

Last I heard there were only like three EA servers running it. I really expect that to change over the next few hours, if it hasnt already.

Thanks for hosting it, Phil!
