Ok, after 4 rounds of Attrition here are my first impressions.
1) I don't like the default sticky aim; changed that before round 2
2) Cycling through your weapons with the mouse wheel doesn't bring up your anti-titan weapon; didn't like that
3) Played 2 rounds with Rifleman, 2 Rounds with Assassin; I'm so used to ADS, i didn't really use the smart pistol effectively. I didn't notice a lot of recoil in the carbine. I did unlock the CGB (?) but didn't play that class
4) Played 3 rounds with Assault Titan, 1 Round Tank (Unlocked Artillery but didn't play); The Tank class shouldn't be run solo; it needs the support of other Titans and Infantry, IMO. All titans have this weird 'dashing' mechanic, reminds me of dodging. I wish the Titans could jump.
5) Wall running/jumping is pretty fun. I could probably do that all day. I need to learn when to attempt and when not to attempt because not every surface can be used to wall run to get to higher ground.
6) While I'm not a 'run-and-gun' type of player I didn't find that i had to in order to keep up. The pace was definitely chaotic; I was expecting more chaos and could just be with the group of folks I played against.
7) The visuals were pretty cool, I must admit. I'm not a video/graphics expert but I thought the visuals were just right for this game. Also, I didn't have any issues with frame-drop or stuttering. The action was quite smooth and fluid.
I got bored playing it. I probably could have played other modes but I felt lonely playing without my GC friends. That and I didn't notice a lot of in-game commentary, or I was too focused on surviving.
9) I'll play again but I'm not sure how we (as in GC folks in the beta) would wind up playing together. There's no server browser so it's all match making. I think, for me, that's the biggest drawback.
I really didn't want to like this game but I agree with Loa: it's Fun!
When I play the other modes and classes I'll post more.
