This is being developed specifically for the PC release of Hawken (Which I've recently gotten into the beta for).
Uhhhnnnngggggggggggggg... Just look at ittttt
It's even USB fully programmable, so you can play whatever you want with it. I can finally play super mario bros in the most elaborate way possible.

Wow. Elaborate indeed. How much will that be? Is it going to be like the game Armored Core (or am I thinking of the wrong one?) where it is required to properly play the game?

No it isn't required to play the game at all. The designers showed it off at a gaming trade show and asked people what they would pay for it, and most of them replied around $250. I think that would be pretty fair, assuming the quality is there.
