There's arenas, which are basically Free for all, Co-op against AI, Team Capture the Flag, or Racing(as of 3 months ago when I last played).

Yup, it's definitely worth trying out all the latest combat, because it seems they've pretty much nailed down their direction and you can decide whether or not the flying/combat is gonna make the game worth it to buy for you, or not.
