saw it on kickstarters a while ago. I though about backing it, but was probably too lazy or too stingy to actual do it.

It is still pre-order...I will wait until it is available on amazon or so

According to my package tracking information I should be receiving my deck Mon 10 Aug.

When I get it, and after we've played it, I'll post my review.

This is the first of 2 posts; the next post will be game play with a large group.

First I have to say the attention to detail is remarkable. There was a personalized (ok, probably mail-merge fields) shipping placard that mentioned my name, last name, state, street, and address, in a cute cartoon. I'll post a pic later.

I haven't opened the NSFW pack, yet, but the standard deck came in a nice box with a magnetic lid. Again the attention to detail is really nice. When you open the lid there's a motion-activated "Meow"; like with greeting cards and what not. The inside artwork is hilarious: the bottom has a divider and on each half is depicted a kitty litter box. :D

The artwork is done by the guy behind The Oatmeal.

My son and I played 1 game and it was quite fun, a bit strategic, a bit intense.

You lose if you get an Exploding Kitten card and you have no Defuse card. Here are the instructions: http://explodingkittens.com/how

Ok, so there's going to be a 3d post for the pics I don't have now... or not *shrugs*

So far, Exploding Kittens is proving to be fun and very re-playable. The games are quick, even with 4 people. And it definitely gets tense when the draw pile dwindles down, increasing everyone's chances of getting an Exploding Kitten card.

According to the instructions you can combine 2 decks for a game that can seat up to 9 players.

And the artwork is hilarious, especially for the NSFW deck. Right now we all spend more time reading the depictions and laughing at the artwork.

I definitely recommend picking it up, 2 decks (or a regular deck plus the NSFW deck) if you can. It's easy to learn and the games are quick. If you host a game night, Exploding Kittens would make a nice warm-up, or cool-down game. Having lunch with friends? bring along the game. I'd say, if you have about 15-20m of free time you have enough time to play and/or teach someone to play.
