The new GeForce 331.40 beta driver is now available to download. An essential update for all GeForce GTX users jumping into the Battlefield 4 beta, 331.40 beta ensures maximum performance and system stability in the shooter’s eagerly anticipated pre-release test.
Happens all the time with big releases, including betas. Team green and team red want their products to run as fast as possible because so many people will be benchmarking the new game. And because sometimes new games just run like crap until drivers are optimized for them and nvidia and amd don't want to wait all the time it takes to get the new driver WHQL certified, so they call the driver a beta.

amd beta driver seems stable to me, actually have gotten improved framerates in multiple games I've played since install for 10 minutes or whatever and the random video glitches on my desktop are gone.
we'll see tomorrow morning.

catalyst 13.10 works really well. no frame rate stuttering whatsoever with it on my 7850 on all ultra, no aa, vsync on in an hour of play (until CTD, but I'm blaming that on the beta itself).

fk dat, automatic update for Nvidia fked my drivers and cause my GPU to crash till I figured out what had happened, I'm gonna pass on any new drivers from them.
guess that developed for amd thing really made a difference then, my beta has been nothing if not stable averaging 45-50 fps while recording on all ultra.

Actually, what we noticed is that even if you run on low, the fps are still 40-50. As Gardalop said: "if I am to be laggy then at least I can enjoy the view"
