'''Global Conflict is a free-to-play Battlefield 4 tournament based on teamplay and tactics. (PC only)'''

= Welcome to GC =
Global Conflict is a community of gamers who want to have fun playing organized 32 v 32 Battlefield. We draw our members from all over the world and at every skill level, from novice to competitive gamer. We welcome anyone who's looking for some fun, team-oriented Battlefield to join the conflict. At GC, everyone is treated with respect and given their chance to play.

Our tournament centers around two armies fighting for domination in a series of battles making up a campaign. Each army is lead by trusted members of the community and organized to compete on the battleday. Armies train, plan and play together, hoping that their efforts will earn them victory over their opponents.

But here at GC, victory is not everything. We believe that the best rounds are the ones that go down to a single ticket and leave everyone wanting more Battlefield; the thrill of the competition is where we find our enjoyment, not stomping our opponent. We play hard on the battleday, but we always remember that when the shooting stops, our enemies will become our friends. Our ultimate goal is a tight knit community that wants to keep playing campaign after campaign, and that means making sure everyone is having fun!

= PROPOSED Campaign System =

Current proposal is intended to be a modification of the existing system. So, imagine BF4C3 except:

# You have a lot less divisions. Maybe half as many as you have territories.
# You can leave territories empty, but they stay your color. All owned territories have a passive +1 defense bonus regardless of what you have on them.
# Instead of placing the maps on territories yourself, the TAs will place the maps. Armies will then have the normal territory draft, except that BF4 maps are already in place.
# Attackers are limited to two divisions in an attack, defenders are limited to 1 or 2 divisions depending on if we want 3 or 4 max possible rounds.

* Attacker limit of 2
* Defender limit of 2 (1 division + garrison)
* Can blitz

Everything else stays the same. No neutral territories (Sloth and math have shown that to not work out so hot), divisions still work the same, you still need to hold 70% WCP through the next attack for the win. The changes are intended to basically take our existing system and make it so we play more maps for less rounds.

Additional layers we could add for fun:

# Theaters grant you a Forward Deployment (maybe limited to 2 divisions or so) and an extra division for your army.
# Black Ops could be expanded from capital cities to include perks like we've had in the past, focused on perks that allow divisions to be more mobile (paradrop, additional move turn, freedom from attack fatigue are a few possibilities).
== Sicilian Mob Commission Losing Relevance ==
     It has long been rumored the Sicilian Mob Commission (SMC), in it’s bid for ‘legitimacy’, has lost it’s edge in the world of organized crime. For many years the SMC controlled and guided the business interests of the organizations under its purview. In recent times, though, many have expressed an interest in controlling their own destiny and breaking away from the SMC. Evidence, from a confidential informant, has come to light, in the form of a coded message, that the SMC is looking to ‘take care of’ The Hand, one such organization, in its bid to break ties with the SMC.

The Hand is the organization that runs the Lucky Number 7 Casinos (LN7), led by the enigmatic “Sloth”. Until recently, The Hand agreed with the ‘working relationship’ with the SMC. For many years, The Hand built the LN7 brand to be the recognized leader in Casinos. LN7 is known to have gambling establishments all over the world. Sloth offered this retort when asked about the current relationship with the SMC: The Hand no longer considers the SMC part of its or LN7’s future; we’ve moved on.

The SMC, wishing to show The Hand ‘the error of its ways’, has contracted Don Vito “Insanity Rocks” Corleone to be the instrument of this ‘reeducation’. Because Sloth was one of Don Vito’s Capos, the SMC is holding Don Vito responsible for his actions. Led by Don Vito, the Corleone Family has a long, lustrous, and profitable, history with the SMC. Don Vito, knowing it’s ‘only business’ vows a swift end to LN7’s transgressions.

The confidential informant also shared that both adversaries have secured long-term procurement contracts for military-grade arms, ammunition, and vehicles. There was a suggestion that local governments helped with the contract and are willing to turn a blind eye to upcoming conflict that will surely be vicious, bloody, and world-wide. To date, there have been no confirmations, denials, or even acknowledgement of the pending conflict by the United Nations and the World’s Leaders.

Today saw the first retaliatory action of the 9th Marine Expeditionary Unit against the Guild Of Calamitous Intent. Formed two weeks ago, the 9th Marines is a NATO lead force that brings together the best soldiers from across the globe. General Hitman hand picked his men from thousands of applicants sent to him from every military in the 193 UN member states. Due to the Guild's ability to rapidly deploy in huge numbers and then disperse before organized resistance can be mustered, former PMC leader, Hitman, was chosen to lead the 9th as he is known for rapid thinking and unorthodox command style. Under him, General Hitman relies on his High Command members, Colonel bigdcowboys, Major LordGonzo and Major Necromancer to provide coordinated attacks across the globe for all his units.

In light of the formation of the 9th Marine Expeditionary Unit, the self proclaimed Sovereign Fields has been stepping up his operations. His right hand men, Helper Robawillis, Phantom insanityrocks and Monarch Gardalop, have been dispatched across the globe to closely monitor his work. Under their direction, the Guild's attacks have become increasingly more efficient. The appearance of GoCI's air divisions, known as the Wasps, has been noted in more remote and daring locations while the foot soldiers, known as the Strangers, have been seen hitting harder targets around Châlons-sur-Marne, France. There was a surprise appearance of armor with the Guild's insignia in Washington DC, America. Up until now, there has been no known heavy ground units in Sovereign's arsenal.

General Hitman has responded to recent escalations. He recently spoke with GCW, saying "We have received an intelligence briefing, which as been reviewed by my high command and myself. The intelligence suggests that the Guild of Calamitous intent is preparing a series of terrorist strikes through out the world. The 9th Military Expeditionary Unit has been tasked with deploying on the major locations to provide safety and security to everybody. We are focused on locating and targeting the Guild of Calamitous Intent camps." It is evident that the newly formed 9th Marine Expeditionary Unit is ready to bring the fight to the Guild of Calamitous Intent.

A week ago the Korean navy has started bombarding fortress Vladivostok in Amur bay. The fortress houses USSR Atlantic armada and almost all of the 500 thousand people living in Vladivostok are working in the dock. Building new ships, submarines and repairing damaged ones. The attack started strong with a heavy bombardment from both ships and aircraft but did little damage to the 800 fortifications found on Russky island, part of Vladivostok. In few hours the USSR fleet was called back to defend Vladivostok and the Koreans turned into an attrition war. two days ago the Unites States, Great Britain and France started operation Second Assault - massive landing on USSR occupied east Asia lead by the U.S. biggest warship: the Ford class Supercarrier USS Titan. The assault stated with a massive paradrop across China and other key points with the objective to destroy bridges, roads and railroad tracks in effort to slow the Russian response to the Allied landing. As the allies working their way to secure crucial beaches, airfields and establish a forward command and logistics center the status of the paratroopers is unknown.
First reports say Allied paratroopers have sabotaged key communication lines and destroyed the Antenna used for wireless communication in Hong Kong. In Beijing the Paratroopers dug in in several areas of the city. Eye witnesses report GCW of intense fighting in the streets.

Here is part of the speech Cheesy gave yesterday in the Kremlin:
"From the begining of history men created small gods and followed small kings. They then swapped the small gods for one big god, and the small kings for one king. Now we are going to take the next step of evolution, Freeing man from these chains and releasing his full potential! Join me in this great social experement! Free from god and free from ill king desires we can live to our true potential, be truelly happy, live our own life as we want it, not as dectated by external forces for their own benefit. united we will bring the next generation of truely free society where everyone is equal. Workers of the world, join me!"

He then responded to the Allied assault on Soviet China saying the red flag will be flying soon over the Nation Assembly building in Korea ending all hostilities between the countries, and that the U.S. has made a crucial mistake directly attacking the motherland. After crushing its army and capturing its capital just few months ago it doesn't have the resources to sustain a direct assault on the mighty USSR. The might of the red army and the will of the soviet people will crush the Americans and anyone else who threatens the motherland. He said that he ordered to mobilize one company of the new Apocalypse tanks to the east to deal with this "little US adventure".

Those double cannoned? tanks are the biggest and strongest tanks ever built. Weighting nearly hundred tons and covered with even more armor then the USSR Rhino tank, it has two cannons and is also equipped with anti-air missiles the U.S. has helped develop prior to the war. From its design to its function this tank raises the morale of friendly soldiers and strikes fear into the hearts of its opponents.
Currently there are only 10 companies of Apocalypse tanks in 3 divisions with one company assigned to defend Moscow and the rest reserved for the defense of the Russian borders. All of the tanks are manned with elite crews. This will be the first time an Apocalypse tank left Russian territory.
     Using the annual USSR War Games (Pacific Training Event), the largest annual military training exercise, mobilizing nearly all major divisions of the Red Army, the USSR launched a massive amphibious assault on the West Coast of the United States and Canada.
This attack completely surprised the United States military and citizens. The Soviet invasion easily overcame any opposition because coordination between states, local authorities, and military units was nonexistent. It is estimated the U.S. forces killed ten thousand Soviet troops a day. But the Soviets would deploy thirty thousand troops a day.
This lasted for nearly 4 months. During this time, the Red Army was able to capture Washington D.C, seizing President Shrapnel and the Commander of the U.S. Forces, General George Carville. After the fall of Washington D.C., the Europeans entered the war by using Einstein's experimental Chronosphere device to rescue the U.S. command from Washington. General Carville did not survive the relocation. The U.S. armed forces used another Einstein invention, the Prism tank. The new light armor vehicle proved effective against the Soviet Infantry, especially since the fired beam would reflect off the target and cause secondary damage to nearby soldiers.
However, the Prism tanks proved inadequate against the heavy Soviet Rhino tanks. After being moved to Canada, President Shrapnel contacted Korea, Germany, France, and Great Britain, and officially established the Allied Forces.

== Shrapnel's Counterattack ==

     President Shrapnel, along with the leaders and high ranking military officials of the Allied Forces, established their global headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario. This location was selected for its strategic importance: relative closeness to the Atlantic Ocean, East Coast of the US, and access to the Great Lakes and interior of the US. Plans to recapture lost territory in the US, re-establish Washington D.C., and expel the invading Soviets were immediately made and put into action. Using the Chicago offensive as a diversion, Brigadier General TacticalVirus, along with Troops from Great Britain and Naval forces from Germany and France, started the liberation of the East Coast, starting with New York. After 4 grueling months of fierce fighting, the Allied Forces were finally able to expel the Soviets from the US soil. Current estimates put Soviet casualties at 1.8 million soldiers and Allied Forces casualties at 1.5 million, with the majority of those being U.S. troops. Washington D.C. was reestablished as the Capital of the US; President Shrapnel relocated the government shortly after the city was retaken. After the British were able to expel the Soviets from Canada, President Shrapnel convened a Military conference in San Diego, California.

     One topic of discussion, as reported by GCW Reporter Insanity Rocks: the Chronosphere. It was stated, in its current form the Chronosphere would not be used as a large-scale troop transport given about 20% of the moved objects would disappear and the fact it consumes large quantities of power, subsequently causing widespread black outs. Einstien, speaking via video conference, noted the power grid in Germany was still getting repaired due to his use of the Chronosphere to save the U.S. Command.

     During his opening speech, President Shrapnel, realizing Premier Cheesy was intent on World Domination, was reported as saying, "It's time for payback!" Large military convoys were reported as arriving in the San Diego area, adding hundreds of thousands of troops and vehicles to an already sizable military presence. In an 'Off the Record' comment, a high ranking Korean officer noted plans were in motion to send the combined forces West, to Asia.
== The passing of Premier Romanov ==
     A year ago the Soviet Premier, Alexander Romanov passed away at the age of 72, survived by his wife, Catherine.

Premier Romanov came to power after Stalin's death, just after the USSR surrendered to the Allied Forces. He had been on good terms with the Allied Forces and the countries they represented. Premier Romanov was instrumental in brokering many beneficial deals, including the easing of sanctions, the rebuilding of the Red Army for National security purposes, and much needed infusions of cash to help rebuild Soviet infrastructure and research facilities. However, his apparent alliance with the Allied Forces made him a very controversial Premier. He was frequently accused of being the puppet, or pet, of the West, by members inside and outside of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU). There were claims he was working for the US Government, the sworn enemy of the USSR. There are unconfirmed reports that Romanov had the Allies' backing because they knew he could be easily turned against the West, or worse still, overthrown and replaced by a Communist hard-liner.

With the passing of Romanov, the CPSU had to elect a new Premier. The countries of the Allied Forces sent many high ranking diplomats and government officials to attend Premier Romanov's funeral proceedings. However they were also there to see his potential replacement and to hopefully exert some influence over the Political Bureau in the hopes of getting a Western-friendly Premier selected. Despite all efforts though, the Political Bureau finally chose Lenin's friend and Stalin's adviser, Commissar Cheesy for Premier.

== Cheesy's Revenge ==
     Before entering the Kremlin, then Commissar, Premier Cheesy took a hard stance against the West and the U.S., in particular calling the U.S. Stalin's murderer and destroyer of the Soviet Empire. This gained him many admirers and supporters. But in a move that many called Romanov-like he appeared to take a softer position when asked about his cooperation with the West. He honored all treaties, trade agreements and Soviet development plans with the U.S. and other Western countries. Cheesy, though, started to restrict access to his vast military complex. He even agreed to relocate the U.S. ambassador to Leningrad instead of removing him completely.

This raised concern in the CPSU. They began to openly criticize Premier Cheesy. But he used the Political Bureau to silence this public outcry. To further keep his opponents silent, he ordered the Red Army to begin extensive, large-scale training. Entire Divisions were mobilized, frequently in a moment's notice. They were allowed passage through many towns and cities, even during the middle of the day. Tightening his grip over the Red Army, Cheesy ordered that every unit/division will be assigned a Political Commissar.

Backed by the World's praise as a man that stands against fanatics and protects his people, Premier Cheesy started to put his real plan into action. With the aid of Gwynzer, a survivor from Stalin's Psychic Program, he rearmed the Soviet Union with the latest in military technology. He used the newly created World Socialist Alliance, an ostensibly West-friendly organization, to create a global network of Soviet countries that can be used to strike against the Allies. 6 months ago, Premier Cheesy, with a surprise attack against the United States, moved into the next phase of his plan.
