==Technical Difficulties==

     A large Solar Flare caused many electrical systems to malfunction last weekend and knocked out power to large areas across the world. The event coincided with the end of the twenty four hour communication blackout in ARKT regions, leading many to believe that Expandas had ordered the networks to be shut down. However, it became clear that this was not the case when both LOD and KART released statements saying that both of their militaries rae effected with multiple equipment failures in all theatres. Both factions are working hard to get their respective electrical systems up and running again. Eht failures are widespread and estimates put a full repair of all global systems at over a month with smaller civilian areas expected to face problems for half a year, however both groups are stressing that they will do their ebst to minimise disruption. Here at Global Conflict Weekly, we are also experiencing some lingering technical issues that we aim to have corrected by next publication.

==KART Surprise Attack==

     A Docile Sloth, KART commander of the Northern Asia area was the first one to acknowledge the advantages of the situation. While all generals and commanders assumed the other army wouldn't move until everything is back online and communication with their respective headquarters is re-established, Major General Docile Sloth ordered an infantry attack on Mongolia. With surveillance means unavailable the only way to spot an incoming attack was line of sight which was too late to prepare any defensive manoeuvres. Sloth utilised six WWII era tanks as mobile cover while LOD computer controlled AT turrets were offline due to the solar activity. Using mortars, machine guns, grenades, smoke and obsolete armour, Sloths infantry were a devastating weapon as his army crossed no mans land to Mongolia and caught their LOD counterparts unprepared and unable to send a word about the attack or ask for reinforcements. Thousands soldiers of LOD Commander Sao's legion perished in this bloody face to face fight. Burned LOD bodies implicate Sloths forces were using phosphoric mortar shells extending the damage radius.

After securing the border line Sloth used old trucks to move his men across Mongolia. Although in normal times this is considered slow and inefficient , it was the fastest way to move units around. With LOD in complete darkness, their cities fell unknowingly one by one. The only thing stopping Sloth from moving forward was insufficient amount of soldiers that are already spread thin across Mongolia. He did send a message to Expandas about his moves, but a response without electricity would take at least a week. So although it let KART surprisingly take Mongolia, LOD should be grateful its the only territory they lost.
