==Ghoul advances under the cover of darkness==

     Last week, major power outages were reported across Europe as the civil war continues to escalate. Divisions hearing Ghoul's call defected SCI and joined him in the search for a safer future than the one they saw under Fields' rule. Among those to stay loyal, however, were Fields' Special Operations Divisions, KART, though they make up only a small part of SCI forces. KART soldiers set up garrisons in as many important capitals as they could, and are currently fighting off Ghou'ls anarchists. The magnitude of the damage caused by the blackout is still being calculated, but first reports from affected areas say soldiers loyal to Ghoul used the cover of darkness to get into major cities while the SCI network was down. Some officials in SCI claim this was prepared attack planned and executed by Ghoul. So far, he has made no move to dispute this claim.

     As troops and commanders continue to defect, the SCI executive committee announced that the hero of The Fourth War, General Fields, has been elected to lead the reform of the Starfisher Coffee Initiative into the Kitten Adventure Rainbow Time confederacy. Fields was responsible for the Asiatic conquest and SCI's later foray into Europe. It was his men who broke Gladius' hold on Omsk, taking the enemy's headquarters and forcing them to surrender, ending the war.

In honor of the occasion, Fields gave an initiation speech thanking the executive committee for the trust and the great responsibility bestowed upon him. He also talked about Starfisher; "[He] was a great leader, a battle-tested commander, and a close friend. Those responsible for his death will be found and punished for their crime of denying us a loving and caring father that saw only the good of mankind in his vision. I vow to continue Starfisher's legacy, but to do so i need your help. Only together can we fight off those anarchists looking to destroy everything humanity has achieved in thousands of years. Ghoul seeks to send us back into the stone age, where father fights son and brother fights brother for personal gain, no matter the cost! Join me in my campaign to stop this madness, to fight off the anarchy and reinstate the law and order that is essential for a civilization. For our future, for the future of your family! And our first step in reinstating order back is to find the killers of Starfisher and stop the terrorist acts."

Under KART rule, every member government will be allowed to retain partial sovereignty, but the confederacy will have complete control over all military activities. Each government will be required to donate both men and resources to the help stabilize all areas of the confederacy. As of writing, most areas are under martial law controlled by KART officers, but a transition of power to selected government officials loyal to Fields is expected in no more then two weeks. Commanders not loyal to Fields and the new committee have fled, and all former SCI soldiers have been assimilated into the new KART army. Serving Fields in his effort to save civilization is now mandatory under federal law, and a draft quota has been issued to the governments to supply troops based on their population. Some have already sent hundreds of thousands of enlistment letters calling their citizens to join the KART army. Others will do so this week. The enlistment law states that any refusal, disobey or desertion under martial law is considered a treachery against the confederacy in time of war.

==Struggle for control continues==

     Although the new KART confederacy claims to be the sole ruler of the world, anonymous officials inside KART offices have admitted that they no longer control several areas in North America, and fighting in Europe, Australia, and China are especially intense. According to KART committee member BlackIce, "A clear front line is expected to be developed soon. Until then, we are trying our hardest to stabilize what territories we control, and are making progress pushing into the heart of the rebels' command."

Violent demonstrations continue in much of Africa and there have been several national fighting groups claiming that their soldiers -- neither Fields' nor Ghoul's -- are in control of the continent. We've been informed that KART is having low level talks with Ghoul's men to achieve a cease-fire, in order to deal with the insurrections.

==General Cheesy Assassinated!==

Just moments before the publication of this GCW Edition, we received an unconfirmed report that General Cheesy has been assassinated. We are currently trying to get confirmation and gather more details from other sources. General Cheesy played a major role in the last war, successfully capturing Saudi Arabia and Iran. He was also member of the KART executive committee and a close friend of Fields.
