Welcome at Global Conflict

You signed up and I can imagine you have a ton of questions.

First of all, it was a first time for everybody. So don't feel embarrased to ask anyone for help. Hopefully this will help you get going.

How do I join an army?

  • outdated

On the left side of the GC homepage you can see a tab "Join Army" click on it and choose the army you wish to join. Generals are responsible for keeping each army evenly balanced. It is possible that he denies your request for joining his army, and requests that you join the other army. That happens rarely.

After you are accepted to an army, you click the ABC. Make sure you use your battlefield 2 account name here. So ABC can track your attendance on our battleserver.

What is ABC?

  • outdated

ABC is short for Army Base Camp. Here you find all kind of information and sign up for the upcoming battles. Just follow the "sign up" link and check the times you want to participate. If you can't attend a battle, let us know by checking the "cannot attend" box. No explanation is necessary. In the pulldown menu you can check the previous battles, to see attendance. If your name does not show on the roster, check with your division Captain, he should be able to adjust your attendance record and fix the problem for the future.

Do I need to create a new BF2 account?

  • outdated

No, this is not neccessary. Just make sure you have your correct "prefix" before you enter the battle. Don't know what your prefix is? Check in ABC. The prefix states which army, which division and what rank you are.

What is TS?

Teamspeak (TS) is a voice program which enables people to speak with one another over the Internet. We use this during our battledays and outside of battledays to socialize.

Right now we use Teamspeak3

Download it here

How should I set-up Teamspeak?

Use the IP address listed in the TSViewer on the left of the GC homepage - by moving the mouse above =GC= your browser is showing it in the statusbar.

You'll notice that there are separate channels for each division in each army. On battledays you should join the room corresponding to the division you signed up for.

Two more notes:

1) Always ask your officer before joining the game server. Your side may have reached the “+4” limit.

2) Assign a push-to-talk key under “Settings->Input/Output Settings.” No one wants to hear you breathing into your mic, this is mandatory!

What are the rules?

We have campaign rules, you don't have to worry about them. If you are interested in them, your officer should be able to explain them to you

We also have rules how to behave on the battlefield. They are "fair play" rules. Read them and follow them (even on public servers when you wear =GC= tags).

What will I need to take part at =GC= ?

For joining the =GC= BC2 Campaign 1:

  • Battlefield Bad Company2

For joining =GC= BF2 PR

  • Battlefield 2
  • BF2 patches (latest is 1.50)
  • Custom Maps - will be listed at Downloads
