No, DNS is all controlled in the 1and1.com control panel. I have to do crap like that at work all the time ..Sup wrote:Goof job Styph! Where did you change it? In TS itself?

You have reservations on using DNS over static IP?styphon wrote:I can change the DNS to point to the IP, I haven't done cause I wasn't sure if it should be done. Will do it now.
Re: [Resolved] TSViewer Broken
No, you can only use DNS on static IP, unless you have some software to track the IP change and update the DNS. People do this sort of thing with VoIP servers all the time.Ash2Dust wrote:You have reservations on using DNS over static IP?styphon wrote:I can change the DNS to point to the IP, I haven't done cause I wasn't sure if it should be done. Re: [Resolved] TSViewer Broken
Just checking, only downsides I could come up with is if GC were to somehow lose the domain or if there was some sort of DNS outage.
Re: [Resolved] TSViewer Broken
If their DNS is down your ISP would just use it's cache, but for a DNS server to be down something major would have to be wrong and the whole website would be down. If we lost the domain then we'd have plenty of warning about it to be able to tell everyone. The domain is secured until 2020.
DNS is designed to do this type of thing, everything is cool .
